There have been many brothers who have lined out together in the black and amber of Kilkenny.

The Fennelly brothers and the Comerfords are just an example, but the Glenmore brothers of Eoin and Alan are the latest sibling paring in Brian Codys line up.

Eoin has been long established as Kilkennys first choice goalkeeper but its up to Alan now to make a claim to management for a position.

However older brother Eoin says Alan is well able to look after himself and knows what is required at this level.

Alan got a run out against Galway in the Walsh Cup final and Eoin says he did well….

“Yeah, look Alan took his chance last weekend”

“Probably wasn’t a great day for forwards or even hurling in general in New Ross, but look he is around long enough now, he is well able to look after himself, and look this time of the year you really have to put your head down, it’s on an individual basis, you have to work really really hard to be in around the panel so look he is mature enough to realize that as well, so he will look after himself and I will just look after my own position as well”.

Kilkenny face Waterford in the first round of the National Hurling League on Sunday from 2pm in Nowlan Park.

We’ll have LIVE commentary of the game here on KCLR with thanks to Country Style Foods, Grannagh, Kilmacow, Kilkenny.
