Two Kilkenny ladies have won awards for their performances in the Women’s National League this year.
The WNL Show named their players of the year on Wednesday evening and Piltown’s Karen Duggan was picked as “player of the year”.
What a year it has been for the Peamount Utd midfielder who helped her side to back-to-back women’s national league titles and a first fai cup success at the fifth time of asking for the former Ireland international.
She was also named women’s national league “player of the month” for November.
Thomastown’s Ellen Molloy was named young player of the year.
The Wexford Youths player has had a breakthrough year which saw her capped by Ireland under Vera Pauw.
Both players were also named on the team of the year (see below).
Both of the local players are also in the running for this year’s end of season awards.
