As young golfers go, Kilkenny’s Mark Power is a star on the rise. Playing off plus three, the Kilkenny teenager has been picked by the GUI for the Peter McEvoy Trophy again this year.
Power won the title at Copt Heath in 2016 becoming the second Irish player to secure the trophy.
Other former winnners of the competition include European golf heavyweights Lee Westwood and Justin Rose. Power sealed his win with two strokes to spare at last year’s event.
The West Midlands golf venue welcomes the GUI squad over 12 and 13 April where Kilkenny’s Power lines out alongside John Brady (Rosslare), Jack Doherty (Carton House), Cameron Raymond (Newlands), Reece Black (Hilton Templepatrick) and Robert Moran (Castle).
