Eoin Cody feels as though a victory for Kilkenny over Limerick in Sunday’s Allianz National Hurling League final will be hugely significant ahead of the Leinster championship.

In an exclusive interview with KCLR’s Scoreline, which you can hear in full from 5 pm tomorrow, Kilkenny captain Cody said that a win against the All-Ireland champions will leave the team in good stead with the provincial championship on the horizon later this month.

“It would mean a lot, we have not won anything overall significant the last couple of years in terms of the whole of Ireland. We won a couple of Leinsters, which has been great. In terms of the All Ireland champions, we have not got up those steps.”

“For the team, it will be massive. Lads would be buzzing, they will be delighted. Bring that winning mentality, winning is a habit.

“If we are winning these games, it’s a great stepping stone going into Championship after winning a National Hurling title.”
