Break out the scarves and hats this Sunday.

With bad weather leading to a raft of fixture cancellations last weekend, the last round of Leinster League junior rugby clashes for 2017 will be played out for local sides this Sunday afternoon.

In Division 1B, league leaders Tullow (7-1) head to the John McDowell Memorial Grounds to take on second placed Suttonians (6-2), with the Dublin side having put together a decent string of results so far this season. Tullow put five tries past Suttonians at Black Gates in October on the way to a 36-24 victory.

Kilkenny (6-2) could really do with a win over Longford (6-2) at CPL Park if they’re to maintain a promotion challenge. The Foulkstown men dropped a narrow 33-30 point defeat at home in October and will be looking to make amends for that fixture this time out. With near identical records in the league thus far, it’s that result that separates the sides in third and fourth.

Coolmine and Clondalkin played under the lights on Thursday night, the hosts coming away with a 17-13 win at Ashbrook.

Unbeaten Carlow (7-0-1) are making light work of opposition in the Division 2A this season and should find themselves in the melting pot for promotion come March if their 2017 form continues beyond Christmas. On Sunday they’ll finish out the calendar year on home turf with Railway Union (7-1) heading to Oak Park. When the sides met in October, Carlow came away with a 12-6 win. Pitch conditions could be reasonable enough and home advantage will give the Oak Park men a boost and a chance to put a little daylight between the top two sides.

All games kick off at 2pm and you can get updates live on Lahart’s Sunday Scoreline across the show.

Kilkenny aren’t done for the year in a whole just yet mind you, Christmas week providing a break before taking on Enniscorthy in the final of the South East League.
