About Kilfane Handball Club
Kilfane Handball Club is located in Kilfane, near Thomastown in County Kilkenny, Ireland. The sport of handball has been played in Kilfane since the early 1900’s, and almost 100 years later, the game of handball is thriving, with our club boasting members from under 8 to over 80.
Founded in 1922, the then committee completed the construction of the alley in 1929, with the first game played in 1930.
Kilfane, a 60′ x 30′ alley, has hosted matches involving some of the greatest players to ever have played the game. County, national and world championship games have been held here.
The club draws it’s members from the local area, and from the surrounding towns and villages. Links exist between the founding members and today’s juvenile players, and we would hope that these bonds will ensure the future success of the club for many years to come.
