Leinster Rugby D’Arcy Cup and schools draws for 2022 revealed

Tullow and Kilkenny will be in action in the first round of the D'Arcy Cup in Januar.

Leinster Rugby D’Arcy Cup and schools draws for 2022 revealed

The draw for the 2022 Leinster Rugby D’Arcy Cup was held on Wednesday night alongside the draws for a of underage and schools competitions.

Locally, Kilkenny, Carlow and Tullow rugby clubs are all represented with Kilkenny College set for junior and senior schools action in the new year.

We’ll be taking a look at these draws in closer detail on Thursday night’s The Knock On rugby podcast.

2022 D’Arcy Cup

This year’s provincial club competition is set to kick off on the 29th of January with six games in the opening round.

Kilkenny and Tullow featuring in the first round with Carlow one of ten teams securing a bye into the second round.

  • Navan RFC v Cill Dara RFC
  • Wexford Blue v Portlaoise RFC
  • Tullamore RFC v Arklow RFC
  • Mullingar RFC v Kilkenny RFC
  • Boyne RFC v Skerries RFC
  • Portarlington RFC v Tullow RFC

Byes: Co Carlow FC, Wicklow RFC, Naas RFC, Enniscorthy RFC, Edenderry RFC, Athy RFC, Gorey RFC, Dundalk RFC, Wexford RFC, and Longford RFC.

Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Girls’ Plate and Cup Finals

The girls’ competitions come to a conclusion next weekend (18 December) with IT Carlow playing host venue

  • U14 Plate Final: Dundalk RFC v Arklow RFC
  • U16 Plate Final: Navan RFC v Enniscorthy RFC
  • 18s Plate Final: Dundalk RFC v Navan RFC
  • U14 Cup Final: Mullingar v Metro 1
  • U16 Cup Final: Naas RFC v Wicklow RFC
  • 18s Cup Final: Wicklow RFC v PortDara

2022 Bank of Ireland Leinster Rugby Schools Junior Cup

The schools’ junior cup will begin on Sunday 6 January with Kilkenny College featuring at junior level (and senior level, below).

  • Belvedere College v Wesley College
  • Fr Godfrey Qualifier 2 v St Mary’s College
  • Presentation College Bray v Blackrock College
  • Kilkenny College v St Gerard’s School
  • Fr Godfrey Qualifier 1 v Clongowes Wood College
  • Terenure College v Gonzaga College
  • Newbridge College v Cistercian College Roscrea
  • St Vincent’s Castleknock College v St Michael’s College

The senior schools cup competition has a later start with games due to commence on Sunday 30 January.,

  • Terenure College v Vinnie Murray Qualifier 1

  • Cistercian College Roscrea v Wesley College
  • Clongowes Wood College v Gonzaga College
