The Leinster southeast team enjoyed a 28-19 win over the Metro Area yesterday.
Six players from Kilkenny represented their club along with three Carlow rugby club and two Tullow rugby players.
Kilkenny was represented by Marcus Bowen, Mark Power, Hugh Greany, Donal Kealy, James Coogan & Dan Ring (captain). For Carlow Noah Cope, Tadgh Ronan and Cillian Moore all lined out while Tullows Tom Hughes and Cathal Gorman proudly donned the blue jersey.
The rest of the team was made up of players from Enniscorthy Rugby Club, Wicklow Rugby Club, Wexford Wanderers RFC, and Gorey rugby Club.
It has been a successful week for the South East as the ladies kicked off the Sarah Robinson Cup last week in style with a 36 – victory over Metro. Tullow Kate Corrigan was the highlight of the win grabbing herself a hattrick in Carlow last Wednesday night. She was joined in the named 15 by clubmates Katie Corrigan and Ciara Byrne, rounding off the local interest in the game.
