“We’ve had a tough year with injuries, there’s no doubt about that like, I mean, Jackie Tyrrell fought like a dog to get back today and was so close to making it back but just wasn’t absolutely there to play.”

Brian Cody speaking to the media after the final whistle blew in Croke Park earlier today. Keeping things short and sweet, one of the big takeaways from his post-match presser was that Danesfort man Richie Hogan had torn a quad muscle ten days ago.

He hadn’t participated in the open training session at Nowlan Park on Friday last but did start today with a heavily strapped thigh.

Take a listen below to Cody’s comments in the wake of beating Galway 1-22 to 1-18.
