Kilkenny will contest the 2018 All-Ireland Minor Hurling Final following their two point win over Tipperary on Sunday.
The Cats made the trip to Croke Park head of Cork and Limerick’s senior thriller and left with a 1-15 to 2-10 victory.
Kilkenny put in a solid first half performance, Richie Mulrooney’s men heading down the tunnel 1-7 to 0-4 ahead at the break.
However, Tipperary substitute Mikey O’Shea took the second half by scruff of the neck, finding the back of the net twice to set up a nervy finish for Kilkenny.
Jack Morrissey’s second half points helped keep Tipperary at bay but Kilkenny will need to make more of their opportunities if they are to claim another minor All-Ireland title.
The Cats will face Galway in the final, who beat them well in the round robin quarter-final stages. Galway booked their place in the finals with a heavy dismantling of Dublin on Saturday, 3-22 to 0-16.
