Kilkenny v Tullow

For junior rugby, it doesn’t get much bigger than this with the final of the 2023 Bank of Ireland Provincial Towns Cup booked for Sunday afternoon in Athy Rugby Club.

Better again, and for KCLR and Scoreline in particular, it’s Carlow-Kilkenny derby as this year’s Division 1B champions Tullow test their might against cup holders Kilkenny in what should be a cracking game of rugby on Sunday afternoon.

Tullow peaked at just the right time in the league and carried that form into the cup, grinding out some key results as they look for a repeat of their first any only cup triumph in 2017 – a win that happened to be at Athy Rugby Club against Skerries that Easter. For Kilkenny, the writing may have been on the wall with regard to relegation this season from Division 1A of the Leinster League but as Kilkenny have a habit of doing, league disappointment turned to cup delight with three solid wins under their belt to set up this Sunday’s decider.

Join the Scoreline sports team and some of The Knock On crew live from Athy at 3pm with thanks to Carlow Concrete Tanks on air, via the player below or in the KCLR app.
