Team Kilkenny and IT Carlow are going head to head in the Watershed sports complex in Kilkenny this Saturday evening, the first home game for Kilkenny in a few weeks.
With KUBS leading the way in the Men’s Division 1 this year – currently undefeated with eight wins from eight – both Kilkenny and IT Carlow have three wins apiece leaving them on 9 points each. There’s ground to be gained by Team Kilkenny though as they head into Saturday’s clash with a game in hand.
Kilkenny head into the game off the back of a 95-77 road victory over Fr. Mathews while Carlow are coming off the back of two straight defeats, both of them at home to KUBS and Maree respectively while their last win was 7 November in a narrow one point victory over Fr. Mathews in Cork.
Saturday’s game tips off at 7pm.
Less than 24 hours later, Team Kilkenny take on Maree BC in O’Loughlin’s in a lunchtime fixture at 1.30pm and with the side unbeaten on home soil so far this season, there’s no doubting they’ll be looking to extend their local form heading into the Christmas break and round out 2015 with a pair of wins.
PRO Damien Brett adds
“We need your support to help us to achieve this. Please come and support the team. There is an added treat on Sunday as a Kilkenny Mens and Ladies National Basketball team play back to back for the first time ever. These are exciting times for Basketball in Kilkenny and we wish the MC Hawks the best in their game at 4pm against IT Carlow.”
