Ballinkillen hurler Dion Wall says it was an honour to be called up to play for Ireland in the Shinty International victory over Scotland in Inverness on Saturday.
Speaking to KCLR, Dion says he learned a lot playing under Clara man Conor Phelan who was joint manager.
“It was a fantastic opportunity. I got a phone call on Tuesday and asked was I available to travel to Inverness Friday morning and I jumped at the opportunity so I was happy enough and it was a great honour to line out beside my own club man Sean Whelan as well so it was a good honour for both of us. It was very good to work under Conor and Willie Maher as well from Tipperary, so they were over the team last year as well so they know what it takes to adapt to the different style that you have to play for the game”
