The story of Neil Gunning is incredible.
Over the course of the past few years Neil has been on a fascinating weight loss journey for the second time in his life. As part of his adventure Neil thought himself good eating habits, became a fitness instructor and regularly partakes in mammoth challenges.
This Saturday he has his sight’s set on the Relay For Life Kilkenny to help raise much needed funds for the Irish cancer Society. A huge crowd is expected in the Kilkenny rugby club for the 24 hour event, which normally sees people team up and complete the challenge as a group, but not Neil. He plans to run it in intervals 4.2km per hour every hour for the 24 hours.
Speaking with KCLR he said “It is vital that many people pull together to support such a great cause, as, if you haven’t been affected by Cancer there is a chance you may be in the future and taking action now is preventative measure needed to help find a cure and support people going through such a difficult time”.
“I have lost my own Mam to cancer and have friends who have fought and are fighting cancer right now. Any support is hugely appreciated – no amount is too little”.
