The finals of the Kilkenny 4Wall minor leagues were held in O’Loughlin Gaels on Sunday, a first for the competition and all with a bumper crowed being treated to some top-class handballing action.

Eight players took to the courts on the Hebron Road with Kilfane, Glenmore, Windgap, O’Loughlins, Clogh and Galmoy all represented.

In the Ladies Division 2 final, Aoibhe Ryan (Kilfane) battled back from a first-game loss to Laura Doherty (Glenmore), edging a tie-breaker set by 11-10.

The Men’s Division 2 final between Ronan O’Brien (Windgap) and Luke Hanrahan (O’Loughlin Gaels) was a well-contested matchup, the Windgap man coming out on top in two sets, 21-8 and 21-17.

Una Duggan claimed the Ladies Division 1 final in a high-quality game against Clogh’s Katie Brennan, again a two set victory here with a 21-17, 21-13 finish before the Men’s Division 1 decider between Conor Doyle (Windgap) and Noah Manogue (O’Loughlin Gaels). With home advantage, Manogue took the first set 21-14, keeping the pressure on in the second to seal a second set 21-10 and take the title.
