Man of the match Shane Walsh gives kudos to Tullaraon team-mates after victory over the Shamrocks

In hurling, Tullaroan will face Bennettsbridge in the Kilkenny senior hurling league final after a turnaround win against Ballyhale Shamrocks yesterday.

Trailing by eight points at one stage, Tullaroan made a big comeback to steal a six-point win with Shane Walsh collecting man of the match honours in our live game.

Speaking to Scoreline, he says the club has hit a sweet point in combining youth and experience this year.

“We have a lot of lads putting in a massive effort. We can see the impact it has on the field”

“We have Tommy who is one of the best hurlers of all time, and the future Geariod Dunne, who will be one of the greatest hurlers of all time!”

“He is really coming into his own, he had a great All-Ireland win with the Under ’20s, and today we saw what he could do.”

The upset for Shamrocks is that with Clara beating Lisdowney, given how tight the group was, they’ll have to settle for a third placed finish and a spot in the first round of the championship with Clara and Dicksboro set to contest this year’s shield final.

Shamrocks will meet Glenmore in the first round and with Mullinavat spared from a relegation battle.

The relegation semi-finals will see James Stephens meet Lisdowney with Erins Own set to take on Graigue Ballycallan.
