Taking a break from planning a Champions League quarter-final clash against PSG (along with chasing another Premier League title to go back to the Etihad), Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini chose to spend some of his Easter holidays in Kilkenny, it seems.
The Pembroke Hotel on Facebook shared the following post late on Tuesday night
“Manuel Pelligrini, Manchester City FC Manager, and his lovely wife stayed with us over the weekend. Guest Relations Ambassador, Courtney, had the pleasure of showing them around Kilkenny city and on a tour of Kilkenny Castle. A true gentleman on all accounts!”

We wouldn’t be surprised to see Pellegrini back around these parts later on in the year. The Chilean is set to part company with Manchester City at the end of the current Premier League campaign. ‘City have already confirmed that Bayern Munich and former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola is set to takeover at Eastlands this summer.
If only he’d dropped by a week later he might have been able to see how it was done in Nowlan Park as Kilkenny welcome Offaly in their Allianz National Hurling League quarter final this coming weekend.
