Marble City Boxing Club entered 12 boxers into the Wexford International Box Cup which took place at the weekend.
Over 400 boxers from Ireland,England,Scotland and Wales competed in the competition and nine of Marble City’s boxers reached the finals where they won five gold medals courtesy of Philip Carthy, Gerry Delaney, Doireann Coogan, Willie Delaney and Ena Lawlor.
They also picked up four silver medals courtesy of Jack Johnson, Mary Carthy, Denis Griffey and Eric Walsh.
To top off a great weekend for the club, Doireann Coogan was awarded the best female of the competition beating of over a hundred female boxers consisting of multiple national champions and European medalists.
