Carlow man Marcus Lawler sped to third on the Irish 100m all-time list with his 10.30 (0.7) clocking in Regensburg, Germany.
Lawler’s time was also an Irish U23 record and he followed that up with a time of 20.79 (0.0) in the 200m.
The St Laurence O’Toole’s Athlete set a new stadium record in Athlone last year with a time of 20.9 seconds.
The Olympic dream could well become a reality for the Tinryland lad with inroads like this being made.
