The nominees are in for the May Sport Star Award for Kilkenny with David Buggy Motors.
Between nominations from the public and our sports contributors, you’ve selected professional mixed martial artist Myles Price, county minor hurler Conor Kelly, and Callan Boxing Club’ Curtis Darcy for May’s award.
Myles Price, an MMA coach and active professional fighter, marked his return to the big stage with a win in May over Wales’ Phil Raeburn at BAMMA 35. He has subsequently been booked to face UFC veteran Stormin’ Norman Parke at Brave 13 in Belfast this coming Saturday 9 June.
Conor Kelly, a student of St. Kieran’s College, has been racking up the scores for Kilkenny at minor grade this summer helping his team to wins over Dublin, Wexford and Laois.
Boxing out of Callan Boxing Club, Curtis Darcy has added to his medal haul at a young age but collecting silver in the European Schoolboy Championships in Bulgaria last month.
