The men’s and women’s National League began this weekend with SETU Carlow and Marble City Hawks in action.
In Division 1 of the men’s InsureMyVan.ie league, SETU Carlow were in fine form as they dispatched of Killarney Cougars by 101-40 in the Barrow Centre.
The women’s side could not commence their MissQuote.ie Division 1 season with a victory as they narrowly lost away to McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles in a tight affair that finished 84-72.
Marble City Hawks were also defeated in their Division 1 opener in O’Loughlin Gaels on Saturday night as St Paul’s Killarney came away with the points after a 42-82 victory.
Next up for Marble City Hawks is a trip to the Treaty County to face Limerick Celtics on October 15th at 4.45pm , while SETU Carlow’s men’s side are away from home at 3.15pm on Sunday when they take on Limerick Celtics and their women’s team will be hoping for their first win when when they travel to Laois to take on Portlaoise Panthers at 6pm on Saturday.
