Eire Óg held on for dear life yesterday evening to secure a three point victory over O’Hanrahan’s in a highy entertaining junior football ‘B’ championship semi-final at the Netwatch Carlow Training Centre in Feenagh.
The 3-7 to 3-4 win nails down the final piece of this year’s Junior B puzzle and will see Eire Óg face Tinryland in a few weeks time.
Elsewhere, Slaney Rangers advanced to the Carlow minor football championship B final with a 1-15 to 0-7 win over Naomh Eoin-Myshall in their semi-final also at the Training Centre in Fenagh. The win there makes it an all Rangers final with Slaney Rangers and Burren Rangers going head-to-head.
The results make for a busy start to a busier week for GAA action in Carlow with the U-21 Football Championship A final this Saturday, the Intermediate Hurling Championship final on Sunday and minor and senior hurling semi-finals also taking place.
We’ll have live commentary of Carlow’s senior hurling semi-finals this Sunday as Mount Leinster Rangers do battle with Naomh Eoin in Netwatch Cullen Park at 3pm while Saint Mullins face Ballinkillen at 4.30pm.
