The dream of European Championship qualification is over for the Republic of Ireland women’s team.
Thomastown’s Ellen Molloy was on the team that lost 3-1 to Germany at Tallaght Stadium last night.
Coach Vera Pauw is to discuss her future with the FAI.
Speaking to KCLR, Ellens mother Elaine says they’re very proud of her especially making the senior side at the age of only 16:
“It’s very impressive to be called up at such a young age and we are so honoured, but Ellen has come through since she went into secondary school with the Presentation (Secondary School) in Kilkenny, they won every All Ireland from first year right up to now, they’re an amazing team of girls”.
