Mount Leinster Rangers are through to the J.J. Kavanagh & Sons Carlow senior hurling championship final by virtue of a one point win over Ballinkillen at Netwatch Cullen Park at the weekend.
St. Mullins made sure of second place with an eight point win over Naomh Eoin at Spellman Park, Kildavin it finished St. Mullins 1-21, Naomh Eoin 1-13.
St. Mullins will now meet Ballinkillen in the semi-final with the winners meeting Mt. Leinster Rngs in the final.
It was disappointment for Naomh Eoin as it was the first time since the league system was introduced in 1983 that they won no game in the championship.
Bagenalstown Gaels qualified for the J.J. Kavanagh & Sons intermediate hurling championship final with a six point win over Naomh Eoin at Spellman Park, it finished Bagenalstown Gaels 1-25, Naomh Eoin 2-16.
