Navan O’Mahony’s expecting tough test from John Lockes this weekend

Kilkenny and Carlow get Leinster Championship 2016 draws

Navan O’Mahony’s Hurling manager James Burke says they will be massive underdogs ahead of Saturday’s Leinster Junior Club Championship clash against John Lockes (Callan).

Speaking exclusively to KCLR, James says that John Lockes won’t be in any way affected by having just 7 days to recover from the County Final victory.

“We are playing against a team from Kilkenny and Kilkenny have a rich tradition in both the Intermediate and the Junior Club Championships so I think we would be up against it.

“We will be massive underdogs, but yeah look coming in, we have played ourselves three weeks in a row actually.

“We went to a replay and we had another game last week so it’s good to be playing games this time of the year but I think there would be minimal advantage from the fact that Callan played their final last week and we played a Leinster Championship game,” he said.
