Kilkenny County Board Chairman Ned Quinn says that Ger Loughnane was very disrespectful to Brian Cody in his column in today’s Irish Daily Star Newspaper.
The former Clare manager says that Brian should have stepped down as Kilkenny Senior manager, and speaking to KCLR, Ned says that Brian is still the most ideal candidate for Kilkenny Senior manager.
“Well I was very disappointed to hear of the comments attributed to Ger Loughnane regarding our team manager Brian Cody”, says Quinn.
“I think they were very disrespectful to Brian on what he has contributed to the game of hurling. Brian never lives on the past and never dwells on his own achievements and he has retained his enthusiasm and passion for the game.
It has never changed in that regard and when you add to his experience and all to that he is achieved, then I think it makes him the ideal person to lead our county.
We in Kilkenny County Board are delighted that he is continuing in his role with us and we hope that he continues in this role for a number of years to come”
