New Carlow U20 manager Bernard Horohan believes that a “winning mentality” is needed in order for his new side to progress in the upcoming Leinster Under 20 Football Championship.
Horohan, who is well acquainted with this group of players having previously managed the U16 and U17 Carlow teams in 2018, feels that instilling a strong belief throughout the panel will be the key to the team reaching their full potential.
“The big thing is to get the players to believe in themselves and to have that winning mentality,” said Horohan.
“The only way to do that is to win.”
The O’Hanrahans clubman heaped praise on the current squad of players, saying that they are willing to put in the hard work that the management team asks of them.
“I think there’s a decent squad and a good bunch of lads.
“A lot of work has been done in underage in Carlow and that’s a great credit to the County Board.”
The new Carlow U20 boss was coy on who will be joining his backroom team but did reveal that an announcement will be made soon.
“We’ve contacted some people and we can’t confirm it yet, but we’ll know soon who will be working with me. We are planning on making an announcement next Tuesday after we let the County Board know.”
