Dean Kelly who plays football with IT Carlow and New Oak Boys has been nominated by the FAI for Colleges & Universities International Player of the Year
Dean had a great year which included scoring a goal in the Perpetual Cup final as It Carlow defeated Sligo 4-1 and he also represented Team Ireland at the 2019 FISU Summer Universiade. Although he faces stiff competition from the likes of Maurice Nugent (NUI Galway) & Rob Slevin (University College Cork).
Dean currently plays with New Oak where he scored 41 times in the 2016/17 season, before joining Wexford FC in June 2017. He made his league debut away to Cabinteely and made 10 league appearances in total with two goals. Dean went onto play with Newbridge before resigning with New Oak
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the Awards ceremony was originally postponed from earlier this year and will not take place due to social distancing protocols remaining in place.
This is the 30th year of the Awards and celebrates the performances of players in the previous international season.

Nominations for the Senior Men’s International Player of the Year include David McGoldrick ,Enda Stevens and Glenn Whelan. While Katie McCabe, Denise O’Sullivan and Louise Quinn are all in contention for Senior Women’s International Player of the Year
Young International Player of the Year wil lbe awarded to either Alan Browne, Josh Cullen or Callum Robinson
