The new SSE Airtricity Women’s National League season is about to get underway with a series of innovations set to take effect.
Bohemians will entertain Treaty United in the opening game of the 2021 campaign as the WNL shares a title sponsor with the League of Ireland Premier and First Divisions for the first time.
The pick of the opening fixtures though will be where Kilkenny players Karen Duggan and Ellen Molloy face off against each other, as last years double winner Peamount play Wexford Youths. Both players picked up player of the season awards last season, with Karen picking up senior award for the second time, while Ellen grabbed the young player of the year in her debut season.
SSE Airtricity are fully committing to backing the top tiers of the domestic game with Bank of Ireland also on board as associate sponsors in another historic deal for the League. And for the first time, all SSE Airtricity Women’s National League games will be streamed live across the LOITV platform this season.
