Carlow County Board Chairman Sean Campion says there was no option but to postpone the €100 house draw until Easter Saturday as they would be severely financially affected if they were to pursue the draw now.
Speaking to KCLR at last Saturday night’s Carlow GAA Awards Ceremony, Sean says the Supporters of the draw stayed loyal in difficult circumstances.
He said “We couldn’t afford to lose €45,000, we just hadn’t got it to lose, and those people very few look for their money back, they stayed with us and we have people now pushing the thing hard again, and I have no doubt that on Easter Saturday someone will be the owner of a house in Castle Oaks Park, Mortgage Free, I hope it’s someone that richly deserves it”.
