Rolling with the punches : The Marble City Boxers show no signs of slowing down

From championships on the line to going online, the Marble City Boxing Club continues to adapt.

With industries on the ropes, Marble City Boxing Club have managed to maintain a high level of training throughout the global pandemic.

Since the beginning of lockdown, almost a year ago now, the club have switched to online training platforms to keep their boxers active. Surviving all the blows throughout the months , the dedicated group still managed to run sessions every week. Recently they’ve added a new dimension to their online training by taking it to the next level and bringing in guest speakers to take charge.

The calibre of guests is outstanding with Olympians such as Adam Nolan (London 2012) and Joe Ward (Rio 2016). Other names include a whose who of World and European Medalists with standouts such as Eric Donovan, Declan Geraghty and Sean McComb. Even Professional champions such as Tommy McCarthy (EBU cruiserweight champion) have been involved.

It’s hard to believe they could further enhance their sessions but they’ve managed to do that too by bringing in leading strenght and conditioning coaches such as Shane Fitzgibbon as well as a host of various nutritionists.

Whenever the championships do resume there is one guarantee. The Marble City Boxers will be ready for whatever is thrown at them.
