Carlow GAA have announced that both senior managers have agreed to return for 2019 subject to ratification by the County Committee.

As manager of the footballers, Turlough O’Brien this year led them to promotion for the first time in 33 years.

While in the hurling, Colm Bonnar’s team won the first ever Joe McDonagh Cup which also gained them Championship promotion to the Liam McCarthy along with League promotion to Division 1B having won the Division 2A Final.

Meanwhile Carlow Footballers will welcome Sligo to Netwatch Cullen Park in the first round of the National Football League Division 3 next year.

They then travel to Laois with Longford coming to NCP for round three.

Offaly away is the fourth game and after that Louth and Down also come to NCP with Westmeath away the last fixture.

Carlow Hurlers begin Division 1B with a trip to Dublin.

Galway then come to NCP while the third game is Waterford away.

The fourth game will be at home to Laois and the final game is also a home encounter against Offaly.

Elsewhere Chris Nolan of MLR has been nominated for the Under 21 Hurling team of the year as well.
