Offaly Senior Camogie Manager Mike Wall says the long gap between the end of the National League and the Leinster Championship leaves them at a disadvantage.

The Midlanders are at home to Kilkenny in Round three of the National League on Sunday, and speaking to KCLR, Mike says that former Kilkenny Senior Hurler Richie Power is doing a top class job to keep the girls fitness levels intact.

He said “If our League campaign finishes on Sunday which is the 17th of February, our next competitive game is the 11th of May which is the Leinster Championship.

“It’s a long time trying to keep fitness levels up and girls interested, but Richie Power is doing a phenomenal job coaching Offaly at the moment and he has them absolutely flying and in tip top condition and has them like that since the end of November”.

He added “The League and the training up to now has been nothing only positive because the players are really really really buying into the whole system and they know exactly what we are trying to do, and the effort we are getting off them, we certainly couldn’t ask for any more”.
