Old Leighlin ladies football captain Anne Roche says they’re grateful to be able to play tonight’s Leinster Intermediate final after the months of uncertainty around games.
They’re up against Wicklow’s Tinahely at 7 o clock in Baltinglass in the 2020 decider.
The final was put on hold last year as covid restrictions tightened up and Anne says they were worried it wouldn’t go ahead, but she’s thankful it is.
“We can’t wait, I’m really enjoying the build-up to it as well, it’s great to be able to enjoy it and look forward to it,” said Anne.
“It’s great to be back playing, I think we’re all grateful that the match is going ahead so we’re just trying to enjoy it and make the most of it”
“There’s 100 supporters, there’s so many people looking for tickets, that those 100 who will be there will be delighted to be there and I think that’s across the board for everything, we’ll all be looking forward to going to games and making the most of it” she added.
The game will be streamed live on the Leinster LGFA Facebook page from 7 pm on Wednesday 23rd from Baltinglass GAA Club.
