O’Loughlin Gaels 4-19
Graigue Ballycallan 3-13
O’Loughlin Gaels proved too strong for Graigue Ballycallan on Saturday afternoon as they got off to the perfect start in the St Canice’s Credit Union Senior Hurling League.
A fast start from the town club proved crucial as they raced into a 3-08 to 0-01 lead within the first 20 minutes.
Ballycallan replied to a start that left them shell-shocked with a goal of their own to leave the score reading O’Loughlin Gaels 3-14 to 1-06 Graigue Ballycallan.
Both sides exchanged early second half goals and a cluster of points but despite the best efforts of the men in sky blue, they could not get back into the game.
A late goal for Ballycallan proved to be nothing more than a consolation as they now look forward to a clash with James Stephens while O’Loughlin’s will be hoping to maintain their strong start when they take on Bennettsbridge.
