Carlow junior county champions Grange are out of the Leinster Junior football championship following a defeat to Kildare side Kilcullen on Saturday last at Netwatch Cullen Park.
Padraig Rooney’s men lost out as Kilcullen added three consecutive late points to come out on top on a scoreline of 1-12 to 2-11.
Speaking to our Brendan Hennessy after the game, Rooney is happy with his team despite the outcome.
“The first two goals, we had spent the majority of the game trying to claw that back. When we got to that one last final push, we had nearly spent ourselves trying to claw that back.”
“We couldn’t have asked for more, they left nothing behind them. Kilcullen came into the game as strong favourites, and will probably go on to win it now.”
