Leading Amateur Jockey Patrick Mullins is more than hopeful of getting his first ride in Thursday’s Thyestes Chase in Gowran Park.
KCLR Sport caught up with Patrick at the recent launch and he said that none of his Dads entries will be affected by the prolonged dry spell.
Patrick said “It’s a race I would love to ride in. There is so much local history around it. If I could choose one chase to win in Ireland, it would be the Thyestes”.
“We have a couple of weights on horses that I could be able to do so I would have to stay in with the old man”.
He added “We would like a little bit of rain just to soften the ground and those bigger heavy ground horses to get them out, but I think everything we have in the Thyestes won’t mind this ground so for the Thyestes I don’t think it will affect our running plans”
