Ryder Cup-winning captain Paul McGinley has officially hit the 1st ball at the Paul McGinley Golf Academy at Mount Juliet Estate on September 8th, opening this exciting facility to the public.

For 25 years Paul McGinley has been one of the most respected figures in the world of golf, leading Europe to victory in the 2014 European Ryder Cup and captaining the Irish Olympic Golf Team in Rio 2016. Now for the first time Paul partners with a golf facility in Ireland, working with Mount Juliet Estate to create the first ever Paul McGinley Golf Academy on the Estate.

The Paul McGinley Golf Academy at Mount Juliet Estate has redesigned the existing academy, re-configuring and updating the current facilities and creating a specific coaching and fitting centre.

The Paul McGinley Golf Academy provides Mount Juliet with a newly sculpted 15-acre driving range, replicating all golf course shots, including full length fairways, providing draw and fade shots. Facilities also include two putting greens and a short game area, and the Academy is using the most advanced teaching software, the Trackman 4e, allowing all aspects of the game to be developed and taught. All instruction is based around Paul’s playing philosophy and the instructors chosen are selected and trained by the McGinley team.

A new swing room is under development where many of the leading brands will be available for custom fit, including Taylormade, Callaway and Vega. All clubs will be expertly fitted with the use of Trackman 4e which will also be used for all forms of coaching at the Paul McGinley Golf Academy. With Trackman Certified coaches on site it is the ideal environment in which to take your game to the next level.

The latest initiative represents an investment of €4.5 million in total spend on all golf facilities/course and the Paul McGinley Golf Academy at Mount Juliet Estate.

The new Director of Golf, Matt Sandercock, AA PGA Professional and Trackman certified coach, is delighted that the new Academy is ready to open to the public. “The Paul McGinley Academy at Mount Juliet Estate is a magnificent facility that enhances our already excellent golf offering here at Mount Juliet. Our Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course is consistently recognised as one of Ireland’s finest parkland courses and working with Paul, one of Ireland’s most renowned golfers, is a perfect fit. We know he will bring a huge amount to Mount Juliet and we are really pleased to offer these additional amenities to our Club members and all visiting golfers.”

“Mount Juliet Estatehas long been a top golfing destination on the world stage of golf,” said Paul McGinley. “I amdelighted to be partnering with the owners, Tetrarch Capital, to develop the Paul McGinley Golf Academy. With the magnificent Jack Nicklaus Signature Course on the Estate, my newly designed range, sculpted to provide every shot in the golf bag, gives a fantastic opportunity for golfers to develop their skills at the Academy or complete quality practice before going out to play.”

The Championship Golf Course at Mount Juliet Estate was designed by golfing great Jack Nicklaus and continues to be regarded as the leading championship parkland layout in Ireland. Set across the 492 acres of the Mount Juliet Estate, this classic course has been the selected venue for three Irish Opens, two American Express World Golf Championships and the Shell Wonderful World of Golf series.
