“People Will Want to Take a Scalp Off Us” Mount Leinster Rangers prepare to defend their title

“We fight to the bitter end” – Pat Hickey Mount Leinster Rangers selector

The JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship starts on Friday evening at 7:30 PM between reigning champions Mount Leinster Rangers meet the 2022 winners St. Mullins at Netwatch Cullen Park.

Tickets are available at the gate, ensuring fans can witness this high-stakes encounter live.

Kevin McDonald from Mount Leinster Rangers shared his perspective on the upcoming championship:

“The fact we are going to defend the championship means people will want to take a scalp off us throughout the year. Last year, we kind of got through the league stages, not very convincingly. We beat Myshall by two points, where they could have had a goal in the last minute to win by a point. We got through other games by the skin of our teeth. It’s a case of there’s nothing between the teams. It was only the case that we turned up on county final day and put on a good performance against St. Mullins. That’s what St. Mullins might remember, but everybody else will remember that they put it up against us last year. So why can’t they do it again this year?”

Saturday’s Matches

The excitement continues on Saturday with Naomh Bríd scheduled to play Bagenalstown Gaels in an early throw-in, while Naomh Eoin faces Ballinkillen later in the day.
