Cork Senior Hurling manager John Meyler says their is huge enthusiasm for matches despite the fact it’s very early in the year with a January start to the National League for a 2nd consecutive year.
Speaking exclusively to KCLR ahead of Sunday’s National League opener away to Kilkenny, John says a clash in Nowlan Park on Sunday is a perfect way to start the season.
“There has been huge crowds at the Munster Senior League matches. I was at the two Wexford matches in Belfield last week and the week before and there is two to three thousand people at matches now so the enthusiasm is building up from the supporters and you want to be involved in a year like last year again”.
John said “Really the excitement is only starting to build. All we can do down here is look after ourselves and look forward to the League match against Kilkenny and if you can’t look forward to that then, you shouldn’t really be involved in it”.
“Ann opening match against Kilkenny in the National Hurling League in Nowlan Park is one to look forward to”
