Jerry Kiernan says that setting a personal best would be a success for Marcus Lawlor at next weeks European Championships in Amsterdam.

Speaking exclusively to KCLR, Jerry says that Marcus can perform well having done well in the Europeans at Under-age…..

“He’s going to compete in the 200 metres. It’s going to be tough to make the final for Marcus. He was 4th in the European Junior a couple of years back”

“Usually, if you do well in the European Juniors, you do well in the European Under-23s and then you do well at Senior level”

“He’s done ok this year. Nothing spectacular, but he is quite a talent, and it would be nice for him if he could make a final or at least if he came out of the Europeans with a PB which brings him down into the 20.60 seconds, 20.50 seconds which is very respectable 200 metre running”
