Rory McIlroy has confirmed that he plans to play in the PGA Tour’s next three tournaments when the season resumes next month.
“I just want to get back out and play. So right now, I’m planning to play the first three events … and then see where we go from there,” McIlroy said.
The revised schedule is set to return with the Charles Schwab Challenge in Texas from June 11. That’s followed by the RBC Heritage and the Travelers Championship with all to be played behind closed doors.
Speaking about return to play plan The TOUR’s Senior Vice President and Chief of Operations Tyler Dennis said “It’s really a layered approach that we’ve taken, and the heart of it is social distancing,”
There will be testing included such as:
Thermal readings
Nasal-swab or saliva tests
Pre-travel screenings
Questionnaires
