St Mullins senior hurling manager PJ Delaney reckons getting into the Leinster Senior Club Hurling Championship Semi Final is “a prize in itself”, following Sunday’s 2-14 to 1-11 victory over Raharney.
Granted, you read the Mail today and you may be forgiven for thinking the result had gone another way.
PJ Delaney also says that the underdogs label for their semi-final clash against Cuala doesn’t bother them at all.
“Well, I suppose we will settle down and think about it, but the plan will be to win it of course but Cuala are a quality side, and obviously they have a lot of experience with lads that are on the Dublin Team, and they are playing Leinster and they are kind of getting to the All-Ireland series so look we probably will be underdogs again but look it’s something we don’t mind at the moment. I never believe in underdog tag anyway. Both teams are trying to win the game and lads can say what they like, I don’t really care”
After the game on Sunday, Delaney spoke to KCLR’s Kevin Regan – take a listen below.
