It was a weekend of shocks just gone in the Premier League, will matchday four offer up the same surprises?
Spurs kicked off proceedings with a one-goal victory over Wolves before we got into the meat and bones of the day’s action at 3 pm. Everton and Frank Lampard’s misery has compounded a draw with newly promoted Notts Forest, with The Toffees still in search of their first win. His former England teammate Steven Gerrard’s fortunes were worse on the day as Aston Villa’s loss to Crystal Palace. Leicester lost at home to Southampton while Fulham continued to impress with a nervy 3-2 win over Bretford. Mikel Arteta led Arsenal though was in fine form scoring three against Bournemouth, thus making it three from three, a stark contrast to last year’s disaster of a start.

A shock three-nil victory over Chelsea sent Elland Road in raptures, and Thomas Tuchels scratching his head. West Ham rooted themselves to the bottom of the table with a loss to Brighton. While Man City and Newcastle served up a six-goal thriller but had to share the spoils in a three-all draw.

Both sides were in search of their first victory, with Red Devil fans holding a protest against the ownership of United before the game. The match was always going to be frantic and fast, however, it was the home side in Manchester who came away with the victory with a 2-1 win.
