However, once the hysteria died down all eyes ultimately turn to the American owners the Glaziers. With United sitting bottom of the table after two games, the season seems to be over before it even started. Still, they are only two points off Liverpool.

Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers says the ongoing transfer window could be having an effect on some of his players. Defender Wesley Fofana played in the 4-2 defeat at Arsenal in the Premier League but has been linked with a move before the deadline. While Frank Lampards Everton is winless from the first two, after losing out to Aston Villa 2-1.
