Following a comprehensive dismantling of Navan RFC on Sunday, Tullow have secured a home tie against Division 1B rivals North Kildare for the quarter final stages of this year’s Bank of Ireland Provincial Towns Cup.

Tullow were looking good value for the win, going into the break 20-0 up and showed no signs of letting up in the second half, doubling the score to run out 42-0 winners.

Sunday’s results also threw up wines for Ashbourne in extra time over Naas, Gorey, Skerries, Clondalkin, and Wicklow.

North Kildare got the better of Tullow last November (21-10) in Division 1B but the two sides will really have the measure of each other going into their quarter final clash as they are due to meet on 5 March at Black Gates in their penultimate league game.

Wicklow have already made sure of Division 1B, sitting 15 points clear of second-placed Tullow who will need to stay sharp in their final two games to ensure their playoff spot.

Provincial Towns Cup Quarter Final Draw

  • Ashbourne RFC v Gorey RFC
  • Enniscorthy RFC v Wicklow RFC
  • Skerries RFC 2nd XV v Clondalkin
  • Tullow RFC v North Kildare RFC

All games are due to be played on Sunday 19 March with 3pm kick-offs.
