Noel Meade says that both Bonny Kate and Wounded Warrior are expected to run again in Sunday’s Grand National trial in Punchestown.

Both horses ran well in last weeks Thyestes Chase in Gowran Park, and Noel says both horses will like the three and a half mile trip and the underfoot surface.

“The ground in Gowran believe it or not wasn’t really soft enough for her. Three and a half(miles) suits her very well. She is in good shape. I sort of have to pick my way along, I think she has to win a race to get into the Irish National and it would be the kind of race we have been thinking about all year.”

“Wounded Warrior, similar sort of scenario with him in the fact that he stays really well, he needs the extended trips and he needs soft ground. Ran a good race in the Thyestes as well, unlike her he’s is entered in the English National and he is obviously entered in the Irish National as well.”

“He would get into probably both of them as well, so maybe a bit quick since his last run but it’s possible he might run”
