Day 2 of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival was a day full of thrills and spills with the feature Grade B Paddy Power Chase going to Noel Meade’s School Boy Hours with Sean Flanagan in the saddle, the first win in this particular race for the jockey who has picked up two wins in two days since returning from injury.
The Paddy’s Rewards Club Chase resulted in a head to head finish between Battleoverdoyen and Envoi Allen with the latter getting back to winning ways for the ever illustrious Blackmore and de Bromhead partnership.
Gordon Elliott got amongst the Graded winners for the second day with the one-two in the Paddy Power Future Champions Novice Hurdle with Mighty Potter and Jack Kennedy taking the win in impressive fashion from Three Stripe life and Davy Russell.
Willie Mullins got amongst the winners also, picking up the first two of the day and the final race with Patrick Mullins in the saddle. The three wins mean there’s no change in position in the Plusvital Leading Trainer award, Mullins remaining three points ahead of Gordon Elliott and Henry de Bromhead.
Tomorrow’s racecard includes the feature Savills Chase and the Dornan Engineering Christmas Hurdle.
