Preview – Gowran Park gets set for 7 race flat card on Tuesday

Horse Racing

Racing returns to Gowran Park today, with our first going to post at 4:20 PM. The weather for the last number of days has been absolutely beautiful. I’m expecting today to be no different with another gorgeous day expected.

We’ve been watering the tracks. The ground at present is good, which is just perfect for flat racing and we expect it to get a little quicker as the day progresses.

As I said, our first is going to post at 4:20 PM. It is high-class racing in action. We have a listed race here on the day and of the course the McHenry Cup will be run, which is the last race on the car today at 8.10.

The 4:20 I expect to go the way of Ger Lyons, but his horse redressed, ridden by Colin Keane looks like he’ll be an interesting one for anyone coming out and in the listed race Johnny Murtagh, who’s been having a wonderful season at Gowran Park so far this year, runs a horse called Lyrical Poetry, who I think will run very well

Later in the card, we have a 2-year-old race and Johnny runs a horse called Clounmacon, and I expect that horse to go very well as well today.

It’s absolutely all guns blazing for this. Even the weather forecast is absolutely beautiful, with our usual courtesy buses leaving from the castle gates at 3:20 PM and anyone coming out we have a lot of outdoor stuff for you to do today. We’ve outdoor bars live music, children’s play area, but obviously, just come prepared for a nice warm evening bit of suntan lotion and whatnot.

Hopefully, we get to see you all later on at Gowran Park for another great day of flat racing.

Yeeeeehaaaaw – what a day for it 😎😎☀️☀️☀️ lots of outdoor seating, Outdoor bar, live music and top class racing. First goes to post at 4:20pm and free buses from the castle gates at 3:20pm. Let’s do this 👏👏👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/feKSdmBpnl
