This morning Gowran Park had to carry out an inspection on the grounds at the race park this morning ahead of Saturdays races.

Connollys Redmills chase day was due to go to post at 1.55 tomorrow however concerns over the weather recently has been a cause of concern for the organizers. After checking the track at Gowran Park it has been confirmed as to race due to a waterlogged track.

Officials hope the annual Connollys Red Mills Chase day can now be switched and held within the week. Gowran Park manager Eddie Scally spoke with us at Scoreline.ie just after the news broke.

“Unfortunately after 15mms of rain over night and the forecast , the track has been deemed unfit to race. We are speaking with IHRB and the Racing planing offices at HRI and the hope is to rescheduled it to Friday the 26th. It’s disappointing but the weather has been really testing the last couple of weeks and we did’nt catch a break with some drying”

Unfortunately our RED MILLS DAY card fixed for tomorrow has been abandoned due to waterlogged track. We are hoping to reschedule for late next week. Update to follow

The Red Mills Trial Hurdle was highly anticipated this year as champion trainer Willie Mullins has traditionally run some of his stable stars in this Grade 3 contest over two miles at the local track.

This year is no exception with Concert-ista, Saldier and Bachasson all entered for the race.
